We didn’t invent cocktails, beer, or the beer cocktail, but these are just a few of the things that we think Denver does well. This contest was designed to be low impact for contestants, and a fun celebration of our community. Please submit for a chance to compete for the grand prize Shinola watch.
Join us for the contest either as a participant or a guest! 10 of Denver’s best bartenders will be selected to come have a great time, and all guests will receive one vote for their favorite cocktail. The event will be held August 13th from 6-9pm so mark your calendars now. The event is open to the public, and all guests of the event will receive a free New Belgium beer upon arrival.
The Rules:
Cocktails are limited to six ingredients, one of which will need to be a New Belgium Beer from the list below:
- Fat Tire
- Dayblazer
- Glutiny
- Sour Saison
- La Folie
- Mural
Your garnish will count as an ingredient (however, if you use a garnish from an ingredient in your cocktail it will count as 1 total. i.e.: your cocktail has lemon juice and your garnish is a lemon.)
Please count each ingredient (other than water) in any syrups or house made addition as their own separate ingredients. (For example, a syrup made with juice and sugar will count as two ingredients.)
Submissions:
Cocktail recipes must be submitted by 11:59pm on July 27th, 2018 to be considered. Contestants will be announced July 31st. Cocktails will need to be prebatched for guests day of, and each contestant will have the opportunity to present their cocktail to the judges. The team of judges will consist of a representative from Avanti F&B, New Belgium Brewing, Shinola, and the Colorado Bartender’s Guild. A popular vote will count for one fifth of the final score.
